that really sounds like something stuck in the blower... it may be an easily removed phy sical obstruction like a loose piece of... something. worth checking.

I tried removing the cover, but couldn’t get it all the way off because the gas line was in the way. I was able to get a finger in there but could only feel the squirrel cage and could wiggle it. U nfortunately it sounded quite similar. I'm going to try again in the morning.

I know what it is, the neighbor child or perhaps a squirrel put something into the exhaust flue. Take the fan/cover off of the blower and you will find your problem.
I know because my neighbors toddlers did that to me too.

Nah just the plastic hub on the impeller sheared off. Probably was mostly broken for a while and yesterday was the last straw.
